After completing a degree in Architecture at the University of Melbourne, Renae spent several years traveling around Australia and Europe before returning to Melbourne to study Interior Design at RMIT. During this time she worked as a graduate architect, showroom co-ordinator at a tile supplier, manager of a furniture store and most recently spent 6 years with Austin Design Associates in Brighton. She established Renae Barrass Interior Design in 2011.

Renae relishes working closely with clients on their projects – whether large or small – and enjoys thinking laterally about interior layouts and joinery design. She favors colourful, warm, eclectic and unique interiors and she believes spaces should be a reflection of the occupants and their lives.

Renae has a particular interest in contemporary work by Australian designers – particularly those based in Melbourne – and has a passion for all things 50’s/60’s/70’s. Renae lives in Melbourne’s Northern suburbs with her young family and enjoys engaging with her local community.

Renae is a member of the Design Institute of Australia and has been involved with RMIT’s Interior Design Program Advisory Committee.
